SEAMSTRESS / SEAMS-PERSON
In this role, you will be responsible for the skilled, professional upkeep and repairs of all formalwear inventory, working to tight deadlines as assigned by the Quality Control Managers. You will use your industry skills and knowledge of garment construction to complete the following tasks, working with various formalwear fabrics and styles of garments:
- use professional level hand-sewing and machine sewing skills to upkeep and repair studio inventory
- take accurate measurements to complete repairs and alterations as needed
- conduct regular fixes to garments such as zipper replacements, hemming, seam repair, boning repair, strap repair or replacement, tulle, beading and applique repair, lining repair and other small fixes
- work as a team to prioritize workflow and meet deadlines as per the weekly runsheet
- purchase supplies needed for the repairs team as required
Attention to detail and a positive, team-player attitude are essential.
This is a full-time, in-person role in our west-end Toronto studio.
